Meet Leslie Carrigan, Executive Vice President at Patient Guide Solutions.

Leslie’s passion for supporting teams and her personal mission to help others guide the creation of our Patient Engagement Guides, and give our guides heart.

Bringing Patient Guides to Life

As Executive Vice President, Leslie helps our teams operate at their highest capacity and deliver top-quality guides to our hospitals. Bringing a Patient Engagement Guide to life involves the expertise of many team members, and leading these teams is a big part of why she loves her job.

"I was drawn to support the people here. I see daily how much they care, some of them with over 30 years of service at our company alone," Leslie shares.

It all starts with the business development team collaborating with hospitals to understand their needs and goals. “Our hospitals may be focusing on improving the patient experience, outcomes, HCAHPS scores, or lowering readmissions,” says Leslie. “For any goal, we can support it.”

Next, the hospital success advocates step in. “Healthcare changes continually, and we know that no two hospitals are identical. We look at what's new, what's working, and what's not working to ensure that what our hospitals put in their patients' hands meets their needs every year,” Leslie explains.

Then, the creative team brings design expertise to the table. “They take what could be intimidating material and design it to welcome patients, grab their interest, and engage them in their care,” she says.

Finally, the print team brings the Guides to life. “Our printing team members are passionate about quality and accuracy in the printing process—down to the hospital's brand colors,” Leslie adds.

A Passion to Help

"I love that we help people—not just our hospital clients, but ultimately the hundreds of thousands of patients they serve," Leslie says. "To think that we are making their hospital stay better — it's a humbling reminder of why we do what we do."

A Personal Mission

Leslie's commitment to patient advocacy is deeply personal. “My brother-in-law was hospitalized for over 30 days. It was a traumatic life event for our family,” she shares. “With him, and with my aging parents, I've seen the healthcare knowledge gap firsthand.” This experience gave Leslie unique insight she uses to lead her teams in creating Guides that help patients navigate and understand their care. 

A Vision of Quality

Thinking ahead for future innovation is central to Leslie's role. “The voice of our customers, hospitals, and patients drives what we do,” she says. “It's so fulfilling when we can be a thought partner with our clients to help them reach their goals.”

With thought partnerships comes a view of the leading edge of healthcare, and insights from hospital clients who are pioneering new ways to enhance the patient experience. 

"We get to see the successes and what people are doing upfront, and use those learnings when we are helping all of our hospital partners," Leslie says.

Leslie looks forward to finding new ways to encourage patient engagement to improve outcomes. Her vision helps Patient Guide Solutions remain a leader in patient education and experience.
