Meet Jacerlyn Callian
Director of Business Development
When Jacerlyn Callian is asked how long she's worked for Patient Guide Solutions, she responds immediately.
"One year and two months," she says, without even having to think about it.
Jacerlyn brings this same enthusiasm to everything she does and to every client engagement here at Patient Guide Solutions.
From Retail to Relationships
Jacerlyn's extensive background in retail helped her prepare for her role here.
"I spent a very long time in retail." she said. "Over 14 years, I was a store manager for a few different brands, mostly specialty retail."
Jacerlyn was approached by a recruiter who told her about the opportunity with Patient Guide Solutions.
"The recruiter was so very nice, and that's what sparked my initial interest: the impression I got from her and how highly she spoke of Patient Guide Solutions. That set the tone for me for the company," Jacerlyn said. "She explained that what makes this company different from other companies is how close-knit the people are, and that was a first for me. She painted such a really great picture."
Initially hired as an inside sales representative, Jacerlyn worked with businesses who supported hospital guides with supplemental advertising. She enjoyed the position, and was recently given a new opportunity as a director of hospital business development.
"My new role gives me more of an opportunity to build relationships in business development, which is something I really enjoy doing," she said. "The sales process is different than it was in inside sales — it's more intentional, slower. I think that's where the relationship building marries with the sales process, and it's more aligned with my background."
Retail also helped bring her to Little Rock, Arkansas, where Patient Guide Solutions is headquartered. Originally from Memphis, Jacerlyn attended college at The Ohio State University before starting her career in retail and relocating to Arkansas.
"I transferred here [to Little Rock] when I worked for Talbots," she said. "I stayed because I love the vibe of this city. It's a very scenic area, and there's not a lot of that in Memphis. That's what made the city attractive to me; that and the vibe of the people here. I've been here about 12 years now. It's been nice to see the city grow."
Football Fanatic
In addition to her passion for her clients, Jacerlyn has another obsession: college football.
"I'm a massive college football fan. MASSIVE," she said. "I will say going to school is what turned me into a football nerd. It's such a rich tradition. You get sucked in and then you become so protective of your school. Go Bucks!"
When she's not watching football, Jacerlyn has other hobbies she dives into.
"I like to read and love a good suspense novel. I also love a good crime series and I'm obsessed with British TV."
She's also a big fan of her pups.
"I have Kirby, a 16-year-old terrier mix, and Livvie, an eight-year-old chihuahua," she said while beaming. "There's never a dull moment with those two. They are both rescues. Adopt don't shop."
